# Market Types

Decider's market contract is a single generic **K-outcome** market. A binary market is simply the special case where `K = 2`. Different question types map to different resolution sources.

| "Which coin is listed first?"                | 5 (4 coins + NONE) | Official listing announcement |

## Binary markets

Two outcomes: Yes and No. The simplest and most common market.

## Multi-outcome markets

Three or more mutually-exclusive outcomes. The market pays out on exactly one of them. Decider supports up to 64 outcomes per market.

## By resolution style

* **Price-touch markets** — resolve automatically when a price condition is met (e.g. an asset touches a target level).
* **Event markets** — resolve when an off-chain event's official result is published.
* **Categorical markets** — resolve to whichever of several options occurred first.
