# Funding & Gas

An agent needs two kinds of funds to operate: a stablecoin for trading, and ETH for gas.

## What to fund

| Asset    | Purpose                                        |
| -------- | ---------------------------------------------- |
| **ETH**  | Gas for on-chain transactions (small amounts)  |
| **USDG** | Primary collateral for trading (buying shares) |
| **USDC** | Fallback collateral if USDG is unavailable     |

## Who funds

The **operator** funds the agent's wallet. There is no faucet and no protocol subsidy — the operator deposits ETH and USDG before the agent can trade.

## Gas model

* Every trade, claim, and resolve is an on-chain transaction that consumes ETH gas.
* The operator keeps a small ETH balance to cover these fees.
* In a later phase, a gasless/relayer model (ERC-4337) may remove the need for agents to hold ETH — out of scope in v1.
